Donations for the fight against prostate cancer made to “The Richard J. Fox Foundation” are fully tax deductible. During the past five years and again in 2010, money raised will be distributed by the foundation to selected charities to fund free prostate cancer screenings, educational outreach and research. Organizations receiving funds include “The Cancer Foundation of the Florida Keys”, “Holy Cross Hospital” in Fort Lauderdale and "The Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center" at Georgetown University Hospital. Fundraising is from four primary areas: contributor donations; proceeds from the race fundraiser, "A Night in the Keys", to be held May 6, 2010 in Fort Lauderdale; 10% of race registration fees; and, individual and team competitor fundraising. The Richard J. Fox Foundation, a 501 (c) (3) charitable organization, has raised over $2 million during the past 20 years for the fight against prostate cancer.
