Runners may share a support crew**:
Every runner in the individual races must be supported by a dedicated crew, although up to two (2) runners may share one crew. [To work successfully, both runners should be of similar capability and must run together or within a reasonable distance* of one another so that crew can do their job. Runner needing help? Runner drop? The crew is responsible for you and must be near you to be effective. Do NOT expect race staff to do your crew’s job. Be sure to watch the instructive “How to Crew” video under the "CREW INFO" tab. [*Runners sharing a crew may never be more than one meet-up location apart.]
Self-sufficiency:
You are responsible for carrying all necessary supplies in the support vehicle, or purchasing them along the way—drinks, food and ice, equipment and supplies that might be needed during the race. On the course there is lots of race support: staffed timing stations, medical team and race marshals and others monitoring runner safety and rules compliance. There are stores and restaurants and portable toilets, but there are no race-sponsored aid stations offering food and drinks. Plan accordingly, and use resources available on the race website to help you prepare and organize before race weekend.
The crew’s job:
The individual runner's crew will leap-frog their runner along the course, stopping every few miles at approved locations only listed in “Meet-up Locations” to provide the runner with water, food, ice, changes of clothes, nighttime gear and whatever else the runner might need during the race. IT IS THE CREW'S RESPONSIBILITY TO TRANSPORT THE RUNNER(S) TO AND FROM THE EVENT START AND FINISH LINES AND TO CARE FOR AND TRANSPORT THE RUNNER(S) IN THE EVENT THAT THEY DO NOT FINISH THE RACE.
Crew must register:
Crew members are considered dedicated runner volunteers. ALL participants in the race must register, using the “Volunteer Registration” process to comply. Be sure to enter the name of the runner being supported where requested to do so.
Vehicle:
Your support vehicle should be large enough to accommodate all necessary gear, allow room for luggage and space for crew and for you, the runner, if you take a break, while complying with strict rules regarding maximum vehicle size and type. Read that standard very carefully and ask in advance if unsure.
NUMBER OF RUNNERS ALLOWED FOR 2024:
Individual 100-mile race: 250
Individual 50-mile race: 150

Racing in the Florida Keys is a lot of fun, but the cause of beating cancer is as serious as it gets and is an important component of the KEYS100®. In that spirit, any runner in the individual competitions who collects paid donations to "The Cancer Foundation of the Florida Keys" in an amount equal to, or greater than, the targets listed below will have their race entry fee refunded in full.
At least four (4) times the scheduled registration fee—i.e., before any discounts: $1,280 for 100-milers, $1,100 for 50-milers, and $920 for 50-kilometer runners.
You will have the option to sign up as a fundraiser during the registration process. To become a fundraiser after you have registered, go to the "Runner Fundraising" page under the "MORE" tab.
