All races, except 50-kilometer, will have groups of twelve (12) runners starting the race at 5-minute intervals. The 50-kilometer race will allow fifteen (15) runners per starting corral.
Individual runners and teams will be mixed together at the start for the 100-mile and 50-mile distances.
Starting times and wave placement will be selected by the runner or team captain when they register, first-come, first-served. KEYS100 official times are "net", and start when the runner crosses the start line timing mat.
100-mile races staggered starts begin at 5:30 AM, after two elite corrals at 5:20am and 5:25am, respectively.
50-mile race staggered starts begin at 9:00 AM
50-kilometer race staggered starts begins at Noon.
100 mile individual and team races: 32 hours to complete the course beginning when the runner crosses the start line timing mat.
50 mile individual and team races: 20 hours to complete the course beginning when the runner crosses the start line timing mat.
50 kilometer race: 12 hours to complete the course beginning when the runner crosses the start line timing mat.
There are no interim cut-off times for the 50-mile and 50-kilometer races.
For 2024, the following cut-offs will be enforced at each of these timing "stations" no matter the runner's start time. All runners and teams must cross all timing mats before the sites close. Failure to make all cut-offs will be considered "DNF"— "Did Not Finish".
