IMPORTANT REMINDERS ABOUT MILE MARKERS

There are small, rectangular, stand-alone green and white signs in place along the entire length of Overseas Highway. These Mile Markers ("MM") count DOWN in the Keys from the race start in Key Largo at approximately MM100 all the way to Key West.  After running 30 miles, for example, you will be at Mile Marker 70, not MM30.  Similarly for the 50-mile race: after running 30 miles from Marathon, you will see MM20, not Mile Marker 30. IMPORTANT: Once arriving in Key West and turning left onto the sidewalk on South Roosevelt Blvd. towards the finish line, mile markers no longer apply.  You will see a few, but ignore them! When you make that turn, you will be approximately four miles from the finish line on Higgs Beach.  All mile markers and mile references are approximate.
