KEYS100®
KEYS100 is a unique road ultramarathon across the Florida Keys, and preparation goes beyond just logging miles. Runners should be familiar with race logistics, crew expectations, the weekend calendar, and course procedures before arriving.
The more prepared you are before race weekend, the smoother your experience will be on the course.
For those racing for the first time with a support crew, and for first-time crew members, the KEYS100 best-practices video “Crewing a Runner at KEYS100” is considered a must-see for all but the most experienced ultra-runners and support crews.
Runners and relay teams are supported on course by race marshals, medical staff located along the route, and monitors at strategically placed timing stations.
Sheriff's deputies assist runners and help direct traffic at necessary road crossings.
The Holiday Inn in Key Largo serves as race headquarters. Check-in takes place on Friday afternoon and evening under the tiki hut next to the pool.
While this location is mainly for 100-mile runners and teams, 50-mile runners, 50-mile teams, and 50-kilometer runners may also check in there or before their own races on Saturday morning.
Orientation is online instead of a live pre-race meeting, so reviewing the orientation material ahead of time is an important part of preparation.
